Meet The Therapist
Hello! I’m Adra Cummings (A-drah), She/They. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about helping people navigate Marginalization issues present in Life Transitions, Anxiety & Stress, Identity/Self-Esteem Issues & Development, and Aging & Wellness. I use Integrative, Disability Justice Informed, and Relational-Cultural approaches within Humanistic/Existential, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing modalities. Beyond individual therapy, I’m available for workshops, speaking engagements, webinars, and podcasts.
As a BlaQueer Psychotherapist, I understand the delicate balance of navigating power dynamics while interacting with oppressive institutions and the agents of oppression within them. I specialize in supporting those who strive to balance personal well-being with dodging systemically oppressive realities that create sociopolitical harms.
Imagine having a personalized co-traveler who blends therapeutic expertise with a strong focus on social justice. I'm honored to bear witness and support the empowerment you gain through your commitment to social justice, despite enduring complex systems.
We’ll start with a brief consultation to ensure our teaming up will be a great fit. From there, we’ll gather all relevant information, assess the issue, understand the context, delve into your history, and explore any solutions you’ve tried so far. Then, we’ll embark on our therapeutic journey together. Together, we'll navigate any potential systemic oppression(s) affecting you, ensuring you can continue what is vital to a full and fulfilling lifestyle while taking care of your mental health and wellness.
If you’re interested in scheduling a consultation, please use the contact link. Let’s work together to navigate these challenges and achieve a full and fulfilling life.
*I do not provide non-therapy portfolios until services are expected to be rendered. As a professional, I place value on the time and effort I put into each project, and I only invest that level of commitment once the project has been confirmed.
